Pirate Queen Lukkage. |
With the introduction to Earth out of the way, I was eager to see how our soldier Ledo would handle the change of scenery from deep space battles. Fortunately for us, we got a few pirates to fight, and while the fight is completely unfair (for obvious reasons), Gargantia looks into humanity and reasons for taking the lives of others. As expected, when the fighting with the first set of pirates begins, Ledo takes them on and literally annihilates them into dust. I am very happy that they portrayed Ledo as an emotionless killer, and not a cold blooded killer (there's a difference). Since Ledo only knows how to fight as a soldier against threats to his group, he does it swiftly without a moment of hesitation, showing how his life as a soldier has been embedded into his nature.

With Ledo finally coming to an agreement with the captain and crew of the Gargantia, I am eager to see if more pirates are on the bill to keep the show lively, or if the other characters live up to their potential and carry the show forward.
