So spring anime season is upon us. These are the 2 most popular charts, again credits are listed on the individual charts:
This is probably the longest chart I have seen in a while, lucky I tried to start early on this post! What I realized lately was I should stick to anime originals or anime that don't have translation of another medium yet. It keeps you guessing without the spoiler. Anytime I like it enough, my thirst for what happens next just brings me to read the "original" material. Very rarely will I prefer the anime, Fate/Zero is probably one of those exceptions. A short rant later, it just means from this season onwards, I am going to stick more closely to anime originals (though I did it last season anyways)
To continue my rant a bit more, this season looks promising. There are a few titles I am quite interested in. I noticed spring seems to always have many more anime listed, I guess it is the best time of the year for anime. So the reminder is, I don't bother with some to list some on the chart due to it beingshitty too childish or remasters of an anime.
Ozuma - Anime original [trailer]
Genre: Sci-fi
Description: The story is set on Earth in the future when an anomaly on the sun devastates Earth's atmosphere and damages the ecosystem. The deterioration of DNA has reduced the birth rate drastically, which forces the government to make clones named "IC" (Ideal Children), as well as a new government body for IC. Sam Coin, one of the so-called "Sand Pirates" who trades in the desert, is looking for the unidentified gigantic object, "Ozuma," which did his brother harm. One day, Sam rescued a beautiful girl, Maya, who was being chased by a sand destroyer ship owned by IC's army "Shishiasu." He took her with him to the Sand Pirates' ship, Barudanosu, sitting on the Port of Oaaze. However, the Barudanosu is under siege by the sand destroyer ship and its overwhelming military might.
Pearz' Thoughts: The style seems kind of old combined with being only 6 episodes, I doubt I'll watch it.
Bern's Thoughts: Matsumoto Leiji's stuff is really before my time, heck, his works came out before I was born. Retro art style with modern production, pretty interesting plot; what's not to like? It's only 6 episodes so I'll probably watch it.
Djr7’s Thoughts: The art style looks like it’s from the 80’s or something, art style is kind of a big deal for me and I have never bothered to watch something that burns my eyes but who knows how it will turn out. Depending on other people’s thoughts will determine if i watch or not.
Saint Seiya Omega - Anime original [trailer]
Genre: Shounen, Fantasy, Action
Description: Alternate world to Saint Seiya Series
Pearz' Thoughts: I don't think I am ready to watch all of the first season, so I doubt I will do this one.
Bern's Thoughts: I'm not a follower of the Saint Seiya series.
Djr7’s Thoughts: I really don’t know what to think about this, it’s pretty vague and there’s nothing special from the description.
Uchuu Kyoudai - Manga adaptation [trailer]
Genre: Comedy, Drama, Sci-fi, Seinen, Slice of Life
Description: One night in 2006, when they were young, the two brothers Mutta (born 1993) and Hibito (born 1996) saw what appeared to be a UFO heading for the moon. They decided that night to both become astronauts and travel out into space. In 2025, Hibito has become an astronaut, and he's going to go to the moon. Mutta ended up following a more traditional career path with an auto development company. However, Mutta just ruined his career through a violent altercation with his boss. Now, not only has he lost his job, he appears to be blacklisted in the entire industry. Maybe this is a rare opportunity for Mutta to once again chase his childhood dream and become an astronaut like his little brother!
Pearz' Thoughts: Seems too plain and boring for my taste. I need explosions and stuff D:
Bern's Thoughts: I remember going to Extra Scans' site and seeing the cover of this manga every time, but I never bothered to get a read. I'm actually taking a random filler astronomy class right now, so that might propel me enough to try this.
Djr7’s Thoughts: His “life changes forever” how original and interesting (sarcasm). I don’t see anything interesting about this.
Naruto SD: Rock Lee no Seishun Full-Power Ninden - Manga adaptation [trailer]
Genre: Naruto, Shounen, Comedy, Action, Fantasy, Adventure
Description: Spin-Off series of Naruto
Pearz' Thoughts: I strongly suggest you do not watch...
Bern's Thoughts: Never followed Naruto, why would I follow a spin-off?
Djr7’s Thoughts: Why would they make this.
Ginga e Kickoff!! - Novel adaptation [trailer]
Genre: Sports, Slice of Life,
Description: The story follows a boy who was in a soccer team, but it was disbanded due to not enough players. However, after the boy meets a female professional soccer player, he aims to bring his soccer team back.
Pearz' Thoughts: Sports anime are just not my cup of tea. I can always just watch a soccer game if I wanted to.
Bern's Thoughts: I'm one of the few people here that watches some sports anime. However, this really doesn't appeal to me.
Djr7’s Thoughts: Sports based anime in general are never something I would want to watch.
Sengoku Collection - Social network game adaptation [trailer]
Genre: Fantasy
Description:The story is set in the tumultuous Sengoku Era of historical Japan, when military masters circle the figurative throne of Japan's first shogunate. In the game, "God of War Cards" have been sealed in six hidden treasures, and fighting breaks out among those who seek the treasures. As a new military master, the player embarks on a journey to obtain the treasures by clearing quests and fighting bosses. The anime's main character is a female re-imagining of the great warlord Oda Nobunaga. Another major character is the female version of Tokugawa Ieyasu, the first shogun of Japan.
Pearz' Thoughts: Genderbent version of Sengoku period? Don't they get tired of doing this? Then again maybe it is worth a shot D:
Bern's Thoughts: Personally, I'm not a big fan of the Sengoku period setting. Probably not going to watch this.
Djr7’s Thoughts: I will look into this one, not sure what to expect but it might take me somewhere.
Pretty Rhythm: Dear My Future - Anime original [trailer] (Bad trailer)
Genre: Romance, Slice of Life
Description: Season 2 of Pretty Rhythm
Pearz' Thoughts: Second season stuff of an anime I have never heard of...
Bern's Thoughts: Like Pearz, I've never heard of the series.
Djr7’s Thoughts: I’m not a 6 year old girl so I have no urge to watch.
Upotte!! - Manga adaptation [trailer]
Genre: Comedy, Slice of Life, Guns
Description: A teacher is looking for a school by the name of Seishou Academy, as he is a new transfer teacher for that school. Seishou Academy is known for having students with excellent marksmanship. However, he gets lost along the way and decides to look for someone who knows where the school is at a summer festival. He encounters a girl at a shooting range and finds her marksmanship skills to be professional. The girl tells the new teacher that she is an assault rifle, not a student. Her name is FNC and is an assault rifle of Seishou Academy. The new teacher attends school the next day to find students, including FNC, practicing shooting M16s and realizes that he has come to an unbelievable school. How will his experience be at Seishou Academy?
Pearz' Thoughts: I read the first 3 chapters, it seems pretty slapstick comedy. Maybe I'll watch an episode if the stars connect perfectly into my schedule.
Bern's Thoughts: After watching the trailer, my impression is cute girls doing cute things with guns.
Djr7’s Thoughts: From what I’ve read are they guns themselves? It could be interesting, then again it could be stupid.
Kuroko no Basuke - Manga adaptation [trailer]
Genre: Sports, Slice of Life
Description: Kuroko is a member from the legendary middle school basketball team known as "The Generation of Miracles ", and while nobody seems to know about him, the main 5 players of the team all admit that he is a better player. When he joins the high school basketball team, everyone is surprised to find out that he is small, weak, and easy to miss. What is the secret that makes him so strong, and how will he help his high school team?
Pearz' Thoughts: More sports stuff D: Real basketball probably more amusing with Jeremy Lin fever lately.
Bern's Thoughts: I remember trying to read this a long time ago; I could never get into it.
Djr7’s Thoughts: I’ve always thought Basketball was stupid, so no i wont be watching this.
Cardfight!! Vanguard: Season 2 - Game adaptaion [trailer]
Genre: Action, Adventure, Card Game, Shounen
Description: Second season of Cardfight!! Vanguard.
Pearz' Thoughts: I think I should just watch Yu-Gi-Oh instead, nothing beats the heart of the cards.
Bern's Thoughts: Never followed the series.
Djr7’s Thoughts: Let’s save the world with cards? I have no idea honestly I never watched the first nor do I watch silly shows like these since the first season of yu-gi-oh.
Phi Brain: Kami no Puzzle: Season 2 - Anime original [trailer]
Genre: Adventure, Shounen, Puzzle
Description: Season 2 of Phi Brain
Pearz' Thoughts: Considering I dropped season 1, I don't think I would watch it. It would be better if the puzzles were better in the anime, that or they show you the whole puzzle before they solve it so you have a chance to pause and think about it.
Bern's Thoughts: I'm one of the few people that's still currently watching the first season. Will probably watch the second one as well, barring a spectacularly craptastic ending.
Djr7’s Thoughts: I still gotta finish the first season, I might pick it up again if the first season does a 180 and makes me care about it.
OkamiSan’s Thoughts: For real? (-_-)””
Eureka Seven AO - Anime original [trailer]
Genre: Adventure, Mecha, Fantasy
Description: Sequel to Eureka 7
Pearz' Thoughts: To be honest, I don't even remember what happened in the first one. I just know I watched it, hopefully they will do a short recap to jog my memory. I will give this one a few episodes to see if I still like it.
Bern's Thoughts: Never watched the first season, doubt I'd start watching now.
Djr7’s Thoughts: I will take a look at it, I forget what happened in the first one and might watch it again to refresh my memory, I know I enjoyed it though.
OkamiSan’s Thoughts: Awesome!! Tanoshimi~Tanoshimi~
Tasogare Otome x Amnesia - Manga adaptation [trailer1][trailer2]
Genre: Comedy, Romance, Supernatural, School Life
Description: A young woman, by some strange occurrence, was left to die alone in the former building of the Academy for Sincere Teachings. Mysteriously, there is one person who can see her in ghost form: Niiya Teiichi, a freshman. Now they both seek to find out the reasoning behind her death, and what could have caused it.
Pearz' Thoughts: This was one of the manga I kept it with for a while but got bored waiting for updates. I am still probably further then the anime will have content for. I was attracted by the "mystery" tag it had, let me tell you, there is nothing mysterious. Just lots of random fanservice moments.
Bern's Thoughts: Definitely going to watching this. I was reading the manga, but translations took too long to come out so I never bothered because I would forget what happened. I'm fan of Silver Link so I'll be watching.
Djr7’s Thoughts: Might take a look at it, but based on Pearz’s experience it might be lackluster.
OkamiSan’s Thoughts: Yes, this ones gonna be a good one. Though the manga series was bad at updating, it was quite the show. It would be interesting to see how they turn this into an Anime adaption.
Hyouka - Novel adaptation [trailer]
Genre: Mystery, School Life
Description: Oreki Hotaro is a high school boy, who always acts passively. One day, he enters "Koten Bu (Classic Literature Club)" as recommended by his elder sister. There he meets Chitanda Eru, Fukube Satoshi, and Ibara Mayaka. Chitanda is a calm beautiful girl but she turns into an embodiment of curiosity once she says, "I'm interested in it (Watashi, Kininarimasu)". Fukube is a smiling boy who excels in memory, but he never constructs his own deduction. Ibara is a short girl and is strict with others and herself. She loves Fukube, but he always dodges her approach. They begin to investigate a case that occurred 33 years ago. Hints of the mystery is buried in an old collection of works of the former members of Koten Club. The collection is titled "Hyouka".
Pearz' Thoughts: I am always cautious with these mystery tags now. It is just so hard to do a good mystery story. If Another is an indication of how novels can do good mystery, maybe I will give this one a try.
Bern's Thoughts: I think this is one of the more hyped shows of the season. Given that it's coming from KyoAni, production values are probably going to be high. I'll have to at least try this out.
Djr7’s Thoughts: Sounds interesting, I will give it a shot.
OkamiSan’s Thoughts: Don’t know much about this but from the tags and the art, looks promising.
Fate/Zero Season 2 - Light novel adaptation [Next Episode Preview]
Genre: Fantasy, Nasuverse, Action
Description: Second part to Fate/Zero
Pearz' Thoughts: God damn that cliff hanger first season. No masters even died yet, hopefully that means this season will be much more fast paced as people start dying left and right. Definitely watching and blogging to complete this series.
Bern's Thoughts: I really enjoyed the first season, and will definitely be watching this. Hopefully ufotable is able to deliver once again.
Djr7’s Thoughts: Who wouldn’t watch this?
OkamiSan’s Thoughts: One would be a fool to not watch this series...
Kore wa Zombie Desu Ka: Season 2 - Light novel adaptation [trailer]
Genre: Fantasy, Comedy, Magical girl, Harem
Description: Second season to Kore wa Zombie Desu Ka?
Pearz' Thoughts: I loved first season until they butchered the ending. Still, I hold this in high regards due to I love the humour style. I did not think this would get a second season due to the sales. Not sure if I'll do blog posts for it though, but I will watch whole season regardless of how bad it goes.
Bern's Thoughts: I enjoyed watching the first season enough. Definitely going to follow this through.
Djr7’s Thoughts: F**k yea! the first season was pretty funny with some nice gloomy environments, definitely going to be watching.
OkamiSan’s Thoughts: I forgot to finish the first season...
Jormungand - Manga adaptation [trailer]
Genre: Action, Adventure, Seinen
Description: This manga revolves around an underground weapon seller and her accomplices. The story starts when they add a new member to her team, a quite young and strange boy who hates weapons. An intense action-packed series with bullets, knives, words, and blood flying everywhere!
Pearz' Thoughts: This manga seems interesting enough for me to pick up but it is rare for me to sit down and read manga lately. Maybe I'll watch the first episode to see if the animation is decent enough to just watch it.
Bern's Thoughts: I remember someone likening this series to Black Lagoon. Might have to watch it just because of that. Being produced by White Fox, I do see some similarities in art as Steins;Gate.
Djr7’s Thoughts: Not sure what to think of it, will wait and see what others say about it.
Shining Hearts - Game adaptation [trailer]
Genre: Fantasy, Action
Description: One day, a mysterious girl named Kaguya was washed ashore the island of Wyndaria after a great storm. She encounters Rick, a swordsman who wound up working at the island's bakery. Apparently, Kaguya is suffering from having lost her memories and emotions. In addition, the usually peaceful Wyndaria is now swarming with pirates who came seeking for the special spirit stone that is worn around Kaguya's neck. Knowing the situation, Rick and his co-workers, Nellis, Amyl, and Aerie decided to bring back peace to island and help Kaguya regain her lost memories and emotions.
Pearz' Thoughts: It looks interesting enough, I love the art style. Too bad the PSP game never got a NA release, I guess this will be the substitute.
Bern's Thoughts: Maneki_neko from down in the chatbox keeps harping on about the heroines. I guess I'll have to watch it to see just what she's talking about.
Djr7’s Thoughts: Has a decent story from what I hear and will look into this.
OkamiSan’s Thoughts: Boom! My friend told how good of a game this was. Hopefully its anime adaption lives up to its reputation. Oh and!! Art by TONY TAKA is ftw!!!
Acchi Kocchi - 4 Koma adaptation [trailer]
Genre: Comedy, Romance, Seinen
Description: Wouldn't you just love to poke in a relationship between two young high schoolers who have a subtle distance between each other? Of course you would. Tsumiki and Io have this subtle distance that anyone would want to jump in between just to bug them. That's what the other characters are there for. Tsumiki, being a tsundere and all, won't be honest about her feelings toward Io. Io on the other hand is unaware of Tsumiki's feelings, hence the subtle distance between the two. Now, let's watch these two and see what events await them...
Pearz' Thoughts: I am always against 4 Koma style, though that daily high school boys anime is pretty good this season. Maybe I'll give it 1 episode to impress me.
Bern's Thoughts: I'm always wary when something is a 4-koma adaptions because they don't usual appeal to me. There are some notable exceptions, however, such as Seitokai Yakuindomo. I'll have to wait and see for this one.
Djr7’s Thoughts: Might be entertaining.
OkamiSan’s Thoughts: Looks like something at least...
Sankarea - Manga adaptation [trailer] (convention quality/not a good trailer)
Genre: Comedy, Romance, Shounen, Supernatural
Description: Furuya's obsessed with zombies. He collects any figurines, watches any movie, and plays any game with the living dead, and is even only interested in zombie girls. When his cat dies, Furuya begins trying to raise it from the dead using an ancient book of the occult he bought from a shop. But what will happen when he sees the idol of a nearby all girl's school walking close to where he conducts his experiment, wishing to die and be reborn as a different person?
Pearz' Thoughts: Zombie Saten appears! I actually keep up with this manga but not sure I would watch anime of it. It is nothing amazing, just random guilty pleasure indulgence.
Bern's Thoughts: Like Tasogare Otome x Amnesia, I followed this manga until updates were few and far between. I'll definitely check this out, though, because it'll be fun to watch something you've read come to life, as long as they don't butcher the source material of course. I guess I shouldn't hold my breath because this is Studio DEEN we're talking about here.
Djr7’s Thoughts: Zombies in anime are awesome, will definitely take a look at this.
OkamiSan’s Thoughts: Somehow I associate this with Tasogare Otome x Amnesia. Anyway, Read a bit of the manga, looks like something worth the watch.
Natsuiro Kiseki - Anime original [trailer]
Genre: Slice of Life
Description: Waking up in the morning, going to school, spending time with friends. These make up the days of four friends. They experience fun and sad things as well, and these days seem to go on forever, until one summer, a wonder happens. This is a story of four girls: Natsumi, a cheerful and frank girl, Saki, who is perfect in both studying and sports, Yuka, who is a fan of the idol group Four Seasons, and Rinko, who loves music. This warm yet refreshing summer-coloured wonder will surely carry you along...
Pearz' Thoughts: More slice of life 4 girl casts. I guess everyone wants to clone the K-ON success, we have been getting so many lately.
Bern's Thoughts: I'm not a big fan of all-female casts, but watching after watching the trailer, I'll probably check this out because of the high production values. I think I did something similar for Hanasaku Iroha, even though I ended up dropping that.
Djr7’s Thoughts: Seems interesting I just might pick it up.
Haiyore! Nyaruko-San - Light novel adaptation [trailer]
Genre: Comedy, Parody, Sci-fi
Description: The story of Haiyore! Nyaruko-san centers around Nyaruko, a formless Cthulhu deity of chaos (Nyarlathotep) who can take on the shape of a seemingly ordinary silver-haired girl. Mahiro Yasaka is a normal high school boy who is chased by aliens one night, until Nyaruko saves him.
Pearz' Thoughts: This reminds me exactly like the love-craft-sensei short episodes. It was okay, but easily forgettable.
Bern's Thoughts: I remember watching a bit of the love-craft sensei shorts. Wasn't my cup of tea.
Medaka Box - Manga adaptation [trailer]
Genre: Action, Comedy, Ecchi, Psychological, School Life, Shounen, Supernatural
Description: Kurokami Medaka, the strongest girl in Hanokiwa Gakuen (Academy), leads the school's student council. The student body can submit pleas for help, 24 hours a day and 365 days a year, into the suggestion box that Medaka installed. Together with council members Zenkichi, Akune, and Kikaijima, Medaka takes on the challenges in the school that range from mundane tasks to supernatural battles.
Pearz' Thoughts: I actually followed this manga for quite some time until the scanlating group dropped it. It wasn't for a good 2 months later before another group picked it up, by then, I realized I didn't care anymore. Still, I read more chapters then they will cover in the anime.
Bern's Thoughts: I never bothered reading the manga because I heard it turned into a battle manga. Unless I hear something really great about this, I probably won't be watching.
Djr7’s Thoughts: Might be fun to watch, the supernatural element could spice this up nicely.
OkamiSan’s Thoughts: Urgh, if I know they would continue this series after the mangas first arc then I’d say this one would be good since the first arc was mot very good compared to the recent arcs.
Kimi to Boku: Season 2 - Manga adaptation [trailer]
Genre: Comedy, Romance, School Life, Shounen, Slice of Life
Description: Season 2 of Kimi to Boku
Pearz' Thoughts: I am sure Aaro is ecstatic to see this.
Bern's Thoughts: Never followed the first season.
Hiiro no Kakera - VN adaptation [trailer]
Genre: Action, Romance
Description: The protagonist is a teenage girl (Tamaki) who revisits a small village, she remembers from her childhood and gets caught up in her family's history and supernatural dangers surrounding it. While walking along the hillsides waiting for the person who her grandmother sent to fetch Tamaki to the village, Tamaki comes across a small, white round object with sticks for limbs and talks. It runs off soon after, with Tamaki chasing after it. Soon Tamaki finds herself in a place where ‘it doesn’t feel like the world I came from’. She gets attacked by three slime creatures, and a male comes charging in to save her - by clamping his hands around her body and mouth and telling her to be quiet.
Pearz' Thoughts: Huh... no.
Bern's Thoughts: I think there was already a pre-air subbed by Crunchyroll. Being based on an otome game, I don't think this is my cup of tea. Expect a reverse harem of some sort.
Djr7’s Thoughts: Zzzzzz.
Zetman - Manga adaptation [trailer]
Genre: Action, Drama, Romance, Sci-fi, Seinen, Supernatural
Description: Jin is a strange kid with an angel mark on his hand. He lives a poor but peaceful life with his grandfather, along with the other destitute and abandoned vagabonds near the river. One day, his peaceful life changes when a strange monster named "player" appears, chopping off heads and killing everyone who appears in front of it.
Pearz' Thoughts: One of those ridiculously long running manga that I doubt I would even try and start.
Bern's Thoughts: I've never read the manga, but I think it's a rather popular one out there. After watching the trailer, I really want to check this one out. Dat music.
Djr7’s Thoughts: you had me at “chopping off heads”.
OkamiSan’s Thoughts: This should be bloody, else it would lose a lot of the feel that the manga portrayed.
Sakamichi no Apollon - Manga adaption [trailer]
Genre: Drama, Historical, Josei, Romance, School Life, Slice of Life
Description: Nishimi Kaoru has moved from city to city and school to school because of his father’s job. So the first day at his new school was just routine for him. Being intellectual and the new transfer student, he has always been seen as an outcast and all Kaoru had to do was bare it until the next time he moved. But things were slightly different this time. First, he started to get close to the class president, Mukae Ritsuko, and, secondly, unlikely as it seemed, grew closer to Kawabuchi Sentaro. Sentaro was infamous for getting into fights, skipping class and was an overall bad boy. Strangely enough, the three of them find common ground in music, namely jazz, and Kaoru finds himself actually enjoying the new town.
Pearz' Thoughts: I find it pretty funny both series in noitiminA time slot seem to be screaming BL. I guess after learning how rabid the female buyers are, they want to try and sell more to the demograph that buys more. Not really liking what I see.
Bern's Thoughts: I'm not really sold on this, and my instincts are screaming BL undertones. But this airing on the noitiminA time slot, so it's obligatory for me to check this one out.
Djr7’s Thoughts: Love, friendship, music, coming of age story, zzzzzzz
Tsuritama - Anime original [trailer]
Genre: Sci-fi
Description: In Enoshima, Yuki is a high school student who's never been good at making real friends thanks to his abnormally poor communication skills. Haru is the self-styled alien who decides to teach Yuki to fish. Natsuki is an irritable born-and-raised local. Akira is the mysterious Indian who watches them all from a distance. These four meet, fish, and find big adventures on their little island.
Pearz' Thoughts: Being anime original, I have to at least give it a chance. It seems semi funny enough I hope.
Bern's Thoughts: This looks like a really mellow slice-of-life show that isn't really my favorite genre. Though like Apollon, I'll have to check out the noitiminA shows.
Djr7’s Thoughts: An indian, an alien, and fish, who the hell came up with these ideas? I prefer time travelers and espers.
Yurumates - 4 Koma adaptation [trailer] (Not sure if correct trailer, could be for OVA)
Genre: Comedy, Seinen, Slice of Life
Description: Yurume moves from the country side to a little room in Tokyo to go to university. Her room is in a little old house where there are also living 3 other cram schoolers, 1 male and 2 female. They all share different kinds of experiences shown in little short stories.
Pearz' Thoughts: The drawing style really turns me off, being a 4 koma style just makes it worse.
Bern's Thoughts: Sounds pretty boring to be honest. Doubt I'll be watching this one.
Accel World - Light novel adaptation [trailer]
Genre: Action, Drama, Romance, School Life, Sci-fi, Shounen
Description: No matter what age it is, the "Bullied Child" will never disappear. The overweight, Middle School student, Haruyuki, was one such kid. The only time he could relax completely, was when he would play a squash game on the local network the school had set up. He loved playing this simple game as he can forget painful times while immersed in it.
It was fall. He was passing his time like this until one day, he had an encounter with the school's most beautiful, refined girl, "Black Snow Princess" (Kuroyukihime), which changed his life abruptly. Introduced to the software she transmitted, Haruyuki learned about "Accel World." A program that enhances one's mental capabilities, with certain side-effects.
Pearz' Thoughts: Oh ya, every since I saw this anime was announced, I been following the manga. Too bad their are no updates for the manga, I can't wait for this one.
Bern's Thoughts: I read a bit of the manga and I liked it well enough. Definitely going to be watching this. God, Yuki Kaji's voice is everywhere!
Djr7’s Thoughts: I’d be interested if the mecha suit wasn’t so ugly and the main character wasn’t a fat little kid who looks way younger than everyone else and seems to have his own art style.
OkamiSan’s Thoughts: (0_0)
Nazo no Kanojo X - Manga adaptation [trailer]
Genre: Comedy, Ecchi, Romance, School Life, Seinen, Slice of Life, Supernatural
Description: One day, a strange transfer student appears before Tsubaki. Urabe Mikoto is an antisocial girl, whose hobby is just sleeping during class-breaks. One day, Tsubaki goes to wake her up and accidentally tastes her drool... And gets hooked on it! After that, he starts going out with her and gets to know her better. Her second hobby, as it turns out, is carrying around scissors in her panties and cutting paper into flowers...
Pearz' Thoughts: Just looking at the manga and I will be turned off by the drawing style.
Bern's Thoughts: I've heard of the manga, and I think it's just largely some fanservice. Probably not going to be watching this.
Djr7’s Thoughts: The main characters are just too weird.
OkamiSan’s Thoughts: Warning, anime contains scenes of drool and saliva.
Saki: Achiga-hen Episode of Side-A - Manga adaptation [trailer]
Genre: School Life, Slice of Life, Seinen, Mahjong
Description: Spin-off of Saki. The Achiga Girls' Academy in Nara once defeated regional mahjong powerhouse Bansei High School. It advanced into the national team semifinals but lost to the eventual champion, and the mahjong club was later disbanded. Six years later, elementary school student Shizuno Takakamo befriends transfer student Nodoka Haramura. The two eventually enter Achiga Girls', but Nodoka transfers out of the school in the second year. When Shizuno sees Nodoka on television the following year as the national middle school individual mahjong champion, she decides to revive Achiga's mahjong club.
Pearz' Thoughts: Not too sure about an anime based on mahjong. It really isn't that exciting of a game to watch, maybe if I was playing myself...
Bern's Thoughts: Most of the people of on my dad's side of the family are really addicted to mahjong. I have no idea how to play though. Never watched the original, so I'm not going to be watching this spin-off.
AKB:0048 - Anime original [trailer]
Genre: Music, Slice of Life
Description: In the beginning of the 21st century, a world war breaks out over interplanetary travel tech. The environment is pretty much destroyed so mankind leaves Earth and starts Star Calendar 00. Entertainment and songs become heavily regulated and eventually banned due to their power to move people, but a brave idol group puts on guerrilla performances in the name of a famous act from earlier times that sang to Earth's bitter end, AKB48. The illegal revival group's name is... AKB0048.
Pearz' Thoughts: More AKB work? I picked up the AKB49 manga, but it got boring quick. It doesn't help that they assume you know all the "key" members of the group. Maybe 1 episode to see.
Bern's Thoughts: My head keeps telling me that this is somehow Idolmaster 2.0, but the description seems to say otherwise. I'm sure this got it's original from the actual female idol group of the same name. I doubt I'll be watching this.
Queen's Blade Rebellion - Anime original [trailer]
Genre: Action, Adventure, Ecchi, Fantasy
Description: After the 30th Queen's Blade, Claudette becomes the queen. At first, she governs the country well by abolishing the heavy taxes and the aristocracy. However, her reign turns into terrorism by power and the Queen's Blade is repealed. The Princess Knight of Rebellion, Annelotte organizes a rebel army and declares war against Claudette.
Pearz' Thoughts: I actually randomly watched 1 of the OVAs because I was bored. I guess that heavy ecchi is could be appealing to some, not really my thing.
Bern's Thoughts: Boobies. Never followed any Queen's Blade stuff.
Koi-Ken! - Mobile game adaptation [trailer]
Genre: Slice of Life
Description: The protagonist's "extremely ordinary" high school life changes overnight when he encounters Kaede, a girl who is returning from living abroad and transferring into the school.
Pearz' Thoughts: I was going to remove this but WOW. An anime made for phones based off a phone game. I wonder if this will be the wave of the future...
Bern's Thoughts: ONA that already started? I doubt this will even get subbed.
So my final list of what I'll be watching:
Pretty high faith:
Hyouka
Fate/Zero
Shining Hearts
Accel World
Kore wa Zombie Desu Ka?
Maybe I'll watch:
Sengoku Collection
Eureka 7 AO
Acchi Kocchi
Tsuritama
AKB:0048
Hey, list turned out shorter then I expected! God these preview posts take forever to make, probably combined around 10+ hours. Time to get some rest, Maybe I'll throw up a Mass Effect 3 review post soon.
~Pearz
So the reminder is, I don't bother with some to list some on the chart due to it being
Ozuma - Anime original [trailer]
